About us

We are Larry and Diane Moschera.

Second Wind Farm is our home.   We live here and have raised our family here.  We have been at this location for 30 years with no plans of going anywhere else.  It is where we work and play.

We are passionate about horses.  We have quite a few of our own.  Our collection includes rope horses, barrel horses, horses we keep because we love them and retired horses nearing the end of their life.  If you want to find us, look in the barn first.

Larry is the captain of our ship and is originally from Long Island, NY. He has had horses for over 60 years.  He grew up riding English and Western and loves to calf rope and team rope.  Larry has an innate God given talent for training colts.  He also is a wonderful coach and mentor.  He is definitely the first person I’d pick for my team as he is a wealth of knowledge.

Larry is also our resident expert on all things pertaining to trucks and trailers.  He can fix about anything and has years of solid experience and advice.

I am Diane and I grew up in the mid-west on a family farm near Delphos, KS. Our farm was a mixture of business ventures including a dairy, a feedlot, a herd of Hereford cattle and a large scale alfalfa hay operation.

I bought my first horse at 16 yrs old and have had one (ok – alot) since.  My passion is horses, barrel racing and coaching.  Most weekends you will find me and my students at local shows tearing it up.  Riding is my happy place.

I also love to write and have published my first book, “The Horses of Second Wind Farm”, due out in May of 2021.

We love spending time with our 3 grown kids, 2 son-in-laws, and 1 granddaughter, Lexi.  She has inherited our love of horses and comes to ride with us often.

Our family is completed by two rather large Rhodesian Ridgebacks named Turbo and Diesel.  They faithfully guard our horses, boarding tribe and our home.

We are blessed in so many ways and hope we can be a blessing to you as well.
